Daily Prompt : The Clothes (May) Make the (Wo)man

How Important are clothes to you? Describe your style, if you have one, and tell us how appearance impacts how you feel about yourself.

Okay, first let me say that I hate the title with it’s little parentheses things. Why say (wo)man? Just say person. That covers everybody.

I hate the conformity of it all. You have to wear what’s out there. Sometimes I think, “I want to dress like I’m from the 1890s. I want to wear on of those straw hats. I want to look like Dapper Dan.” Or sometimes, I wish I could dress all hippie, or beatnik, or whatever. You can’t really do that. I mean, you could, but you can’t do it like it’s a no big deal everyday thing. People would stare. Or put you in looney bin. You have to wear what’s on the stupid shelves in the stupid stores.

This is what I really want to wear

This is what i really want to wear.

A group off designer says, “This is the style this year”. Why is it the style this year. Why that junk? Maybe I don’t like that stupid crap. Maybe I want to wear dungarees, or knickers, or a kilt. Maybe I want to dress like Hamlet or Henry VIII. No – can’t do it. People would bother you.

At work I can only wear black and white; with specifics on the style. That’s boring. When I’m not working I usually wear jeans and some type of t-shirt, or polo shirt. I have some button-downs, but I usually don’t wear them. I like clothes that are a bigger fit. I don’t like tight stuff. It bothers me.

I don’t like to spend a lot of money on clothes. Who even cares. I don’t have a job or lifestyle where I have to dress to impress. I wear what’s comfortable.

But I would still like to wear some really groovy stuff at times. I wonder what would happen if I wort something like this?

I would most def be the grooviest cat in the neighborhood.
