Open the first photo album you can find – real of virtual, your call – and stop at the first picture of yourself you see there. Tell us the story of that photo.
I opened up a Facebook photo file and this was the first picture.
Lindy, me, Jack and Larry. College band snare drum line. 1977
Before every halftime show we had percussion warm-ups.
Lindy went on to work in the wine business.
Jack became a band director at an all boys Catholic high school. He’s still there.
Larry became a director and composer for the military. The last I heard, he was working at the Pentagon.

And are you still given to wearing epaulets, Bob? http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/06/23/three-cees-fun-fotochallenge/

No, I gave those up years ago. As I did berets and pretty much anything purple.

Just as well. What did you replace them with?

High School and College band uniforms are so atrocious. Anything that you replace them with is an improvement.

Ha! I was in a marching band..Orange and Black. Don’t think we could afford Epaulets, but oh those brimmed caps! I remember getting cramps in my left foot and just having to march them out…I also suspect I could either play or march but not both at once so I was probably miming much of the time when we were in motion.
